Terms and Conditions of Service
Last Updated: July 19, 2025
Welcome to PeoriaPhone Masters. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website, our repair services, and our mail-in repair services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing our website or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
This agreement commences when you book a repair and continues until we have returned your device and received all payments due.
1. General
-
Service Agreement: These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you ("Customer," "you") and PeoriaPhone Masters ("we," "us," "our").
-
Eligibility: Our services are available only to individuals who are 18 years of age or older.
-
Right to Refuse Service: We reserve the right to refuse service to any customer for any reason, in accordance with applicable Federal and State Law under whose jurisdiction our company exists. In such cases, we will refund any service fees paid by the customer, and the device will be returned at the customer's expense.
-
Modifications: We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
2. Repair Services
-
Authorization: By submitting your device for repair, you authorize PeoriaPhone Masters to perform all necessary work as described in your service request and our initial diagnostics.
-
Diagnostics: All repairs begin with a diagnostic assessment. This diagnostic fee is non-refundable and covers the time, tools, and expertise of our technicians. If we identify issues beyond your original request, we will provide a revised quote and will not proceed with additional repairs without your approval.
-
Pre-existing Conditions: Devices with pre-existing conditions, particularly water damage or motherboard issues, are repaired on a "best-effort" basis. We don't guarantee success in these cases and won't issue a refund if the device becomes non-functional.
-
Unrepairable Devices: If we determine that a device is beyond economical or practical repair, we won't proceed with service. In such cases, you'll only be responsible for the diagnostic fee and any applicable shipping costs.
-
Turnaround Time: Any time estimate provided for the completion of a repair is an estimate only and doesn't create a binding obligation. Delays may occur due to parts availability or unforeseen complexities.
2.1 Part Quality and Grades
PeoriaPhone Masters offers various part qualities for repairs to meet different customer needs and budgets. These typically include Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts, Aftermarket Performance (AMP) parts, and Aftermarket Budget (AMB) parts.
-
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Parts: These are parts made by the same company that manufactured your device or by their certified partners. They're designed to meet original specifications, offering the highest quality, compatibility, and often the best integration with device features (like Face ID or True Tone).
-
AMP (Aftermarket Performance) Parts: These are high-quality aftermarket parts produced by third-party manufacturers. They're designed to closely match the performance and functionality of OEM parts, often utilizing premium materials and stricter manufacturing processes. While they aim to provide an experience very similar to OEM, minor differences in color calibration, brightness, or touch sensitivity might occasionally be present compared to the original factory specifications.
-
AMB (Aftermarket Budget) Parts: These are cost-effective aftermarket parts from third-party manufacturers. While they'll restore basic functionality to your device, they may not offer the same level of performance, durability, or aesthetic quality as OEM or AMP parts. This option is typically chosen for budget-conscious repairs where slight compromises in display quality, battery longevity, or overall responsiveness are acceptable.
Customer Responsibility and Performance Implications:
By agreeing to these Terms, you acknowledge and understand that:
-
You're responsible for understanding the differences in part qualities. Our technicians will explain the available options, their characteristics, and potential implications for your device's performance. The final decision on the part grade used for your repair rests with you.
-
Different part qualities may lead to variations in performance compared to your device's original manufacturer design. This can include, but isn't limited to, differences in:
-
Display: Brightness, color accuracy, contrast, and touch sensitivity (e.g., ghosting, unresponsive areas).
-
Battery: Overall battery life, charging efficiency, and long-term degradation.
-
Camera: Image quality, autofocus performance, and specific camera features.
-
Audio: Speaker volume, microphone clarity, and headphone jack functionality.
-
Sensors: Functionality of ambient light sensors, proximity sensors, and biometric features (e.g., Face ID, Touch ID).
-
-
Certain features may not function as originally designed or may cease to function entirely, particularly with AMB parts, if they rely on specific component integration and calibration unique to OEM parts.
-
While we strive to ensure satisfactory performance with all part grades, choosing AMB or, to a lesser extent, AMP parts may result in a user experience that differs from your device's original factory performance.
We'll provide our professional recommendations based on your device's needs and your preferences. However, the ultimate choice regarding part quality is yours, and you assume the risks associated with selecting non-OEM or lower-grade Aftermarket parts.
3. Legal Compliance and Prohibited Devices
-
Stolen Devices: By submitting your device for service, you represent and warrant that you are the rightful owner of the device or have full authorization from the owner to submit it for repair. If we receive a device that is determined to be stolen, you understand and agree that you will be solely responsible for any and all legal fees and costs incurred by PeoriaPhone Masters as a result of possessing or attempting to repair such a device.
-
Devices Involved in Criminal Activity: If, during the course of our repair process, we become aware that a device has been involved in or is evidence of a crime, we are legally obligated to and will notify the appropriate law enforcement authorities. We will cooperate with law enforcement to the extent required by law.
4. Customer Responsibilities
-
Data Backup: You're solely responsible for backing up all data on your device before submitting it for repair. PeoriaPhone Masters isn't liable for any loss, corruption, or compromise of data during the repair process.
-
Passcodes: We may require your device's passcode to perform full functional tests before and after the repair. If you choose not to provide it, we can't guarantee a complete assessment, which may affect your warranty coverage if post-repair issues arise.
-
Accessories: Don't send accessories (cases, SIM cards, chargers) with your device unless specifically requested by our team. We're not responsible for any lost or damaged accessories.
5. Mail-In Repair & Shipping
Our Shipping Policy & Mail-in Repair terms are incorporated into this agreement by reference. Key points include:
-
Shipping Costs: You're responsible for all shipping costs, which are calculated based on your location and chosen shipping method (Standard or Overnight).
-
Packaging and Insurance: You must securely package your device for transit. We're not liable for any damage or loss that occurs while your device is being shipped to us. We strongly recommend purchasing shipping insurance.
-
International Customers: International customers are responsible for all customs fees, duties, taxes, and other charges associated with shipping. Furthermore, you are responsible for ensuring that your shipment is properly labeled for customs, such as "shipping for customs," to avoid delays or issues with international transit.
6. Payment, Refunds, and Cancellations
Our Refund & Cancellation Policy is incorporated into this agreement by reference. Key points include:
-
Payment: Full payment is due upon completion of the repair. For mail-in repairs, payment for shipping is required before we provide our shipping address. We reserve the right to retain your device until all charges have been paid in full.
-
Service Cancellations:
-
Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance will be refunded in full.
-
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment will be refunded at 50%.
-
-
No-Shows: Missed appointments without any contact are non-refundable.
-
Refunds: Refunds are only offered if a service fails due to our error within 7 days. Requests must be made via email to customerservice@peoriaphonemasters.com. Approved refunds are for the service cost only and don't include diagnostic or shipping fees.
7. Warranties
-
Limited Repair Guarantee: All repairs come with a limited 7-day guarantee on the specific part(s) and labor, starting from the date of service or, for mail-in repairs, the date you receive the device. This warranty doesn't cover issues caused by unrelated or new damage, such as drops or water damage.
-
Lifetime Manufacturer's Warranty: For parts covered by a lifetime manufacturer's warranty, we extend that warranty to you. You'll be responsible for a $60.00 labor fee (plus tax) and any shipping costs for future repairs under this warranty.
-
Voiding of Warranty: Your manufacturer's warranty may be voided by our repair service. Our 7-day guarantee will be voided if the device is opened or tampered with by a third party after our repair.
